This Sunday saw the passing away of an East Texas hero. Brooks Gremmels died at 70 due to pancreatic cancer. He was the true life manifestation of the “build it, and they will come” mantra. Brooks along with his wife, Rese Gremmels, breathed life back into the dying City of Ben Wheeler.
Our prayers go with Rese and Cary Gremmels, Amy and John Hafele. Mr. Brooks, you cast a long shadow. May your generosity and dedication to your neighbors and communities be the example to follow for us all.
