Spilled Fuel from 18-Wheeler Wreck Threatens Waterways
Sunday’s morning found an 18-wheeler rolled over just off Hwy 183A between Cedar Park and Leander. The commercial truck was hauling fuel, and the crash has caused the content to be spilled onto the roadway and ground. Besides the risk of explosive ignition and fire, the fire department is worried about contamination to the local waterways. They had used foam as a preventative measure. Hazmat crew are busy cleaning up the serious spill. Meanwhile, the driver of the semi has been taken to the nearby St. David’s Medical Center in Round Rock.
