An Arkansas federal jury has awarded $7 million to the family of a Missouri truck driver who was killed when his vehicle collided with another semi-truck in northern Arkansas in September 2008.
The panel on Thursday found in favor of ex-Farmington, Mo., resident Roger Reagan’s family, which sued Dunaway Timber Co. and its driver, Morgan Quisenberry.
According to the lawsuit, Quisenberry’s truck was headed west on U.S. Highway 62 near Yellville when it crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided with Reagan’s truck.
The family’s attorney, Kent Emison, said Friday Quisenberry was too fatigued to be driving, and had inadequate experience and a poor driving record.
The timber company’s attorneys didn’t immediately return messages seeking comment.
A man who identified himself as a Dunaway Timber representative also declined comment.
